About Kirsten

Kirsten Poplarchick

Hi, I’m Kirsten Poplarchick! I’m a Social Media and Photography student at Grand Canyon University in Phoenix, AZ, originally from Oakhurst, CA.

Through my photography, I aim to capture the stories that unfold in the world around us—from the thrill of the game to the beauty of the California mountains.

I specialize in sports, nature, and portrait photography, telling stories through my lens one frame at a time.

A little more about me.

Growing up in the heart of the central Sierra Mountains, I’ve always been driven by a passion for sports and the outdoors. My background is rooted in competition; I grew up playing baseball, soccer, basketball, and cross country, which taught me the value of teamwork and persistence.

As a student-athlete at Yosemite High School, I played point guard for the Badgers and was honored to be named a Northwest Sequoia League (NWSL) First Team All-League selection for the 2022-23 season.

When I’m not capturing stories through my lens, I’m usually looking for a new adventure. One of my favorite ways to recharge is exploring the Sierra National Forest on dirt bikes with my dad. Those trips are a constant source of inspiration for my photography and my connection to the landscapes I capture.
